My Journey to InnerBloom: Finding Strength, Purpose, and Balance
If you had told me a few years ago that I’d end up here - blending fitness, nutrition, and naturopathy into a life I love - I probably wouldn’t have believed you. My journey to this point has been anything but straightforward, and honestly, that’s what makes it so meaningful.
After having my two girls, Tinka and Nova, life was busy and full, but we knew our family wasn’t quite complete. When we decided to try for a third, we were so excited - dreaming, planning, imagining what life would look like with another little one running around.
But at 19 weeks, our world completely shifted. We lost our baby boy, Maverick. It was one of those moments that stops everything - life, time, your sense of self. Grief has a way of reshaping you. It changes how you see the world, your body, and what really matters.
In the months that followed, I found myself turning to movement. Exercise became my therapy, my outlet, and my anchor. It wasn’t about chasing a body goal - it was about finding a way to feel again. Every walk, every workout, every breath reminded me that my body was still strong, even when my heart wasn’t. That’s where my deep appreciation for exercise really began - not as punishment or perfection, but as healing.
That’s also what led me to become a personal trainer. I wanted to help other women find that same strength - the kind that builds from the inside out. For three years, I worked with incredible people who reminded me daily how powerful movement can be for both body and mind. And somewhere in between, our family grew again - another beautiful baby - Summer - to complete our world in the most perfect way.
But as time went on, I realised I wanted to do more. So many of my clients weren’t just struggling with fitness - they were tired, burnt out, bloated, and battling hormones that felt totally out of sync. I knew there was more to health than what happened in the gym.
That’s when I decided to dive deeper into the why behind it all. I started studying nutrition, but when I began researching my options, I realised the only distance-learning qualification available that really covered everything I wanted was the Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Health (Nutrition and Naturopathy). I signed up, not quite knowing how much it would change my life.
What began as a way to expand my knowledge quickly became a passion - a full-blown love for naturopathy and natural health. I was fascinated by how the body is designed to heal itself when given the right tools, how food truly is medicine, and how emotional wellbeing, movement, and nature are all deeply connected.
And that’s how InnerBloom was born - from pain, growth, learning, and the desire to help others find their version of balance and vitality.
I’m not someone who’s always had it all figured out. I’ve had to navigate loss, rebuild my strength, and redefine what health means to me - and that’s exactly why I love what I do now. I get to help others reconnect with their bodies, understand their health, and feel good again - not through extremes or quick fixes, but through connection, education, and compassion.
So, this blog is going to be a space for all of that.
The real stuff. The messy stuff. The empowering stuff.
If you’re someone who’s trying to find balance, feel more like you again, or just learn how to support your body naturally - I’m so glad you’re here. 💛
